40 Commando will remain in Taunton beyond 2028

Following a focused campaign, Rebecca Pow MP for Taunton Deane achieves a remarkable U-turn on the Norton Manor Camp decision taken in 2016. Today, the MOD confirms the camp has been saved.

Taunton's high street placed 3rd in a published league table ranking 70 of Britain’s major towns and cities by the impact of their high streets on the public’s health and wellbeing by the RSPH.

Hard working local campaigner Wayne Battishill, was elected to Wellington Town Council yesterday evening (26th July). Wayne Battishill won the vote after Lib Dem Cllr Peter Critchard resigned his seat in June.

Plastic free Parliament

Taunton Deane MP, Rebecca Pow has welcomed the recent announcement that Parliament will be introducing new measures over the next 12 months to reduce the consumption of single-use plastic across the Parliamentary estate.
